  • August 2005:  The 2005 California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) went into the field on July 11 and completion is anticipated in December. Conducted every two years by the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, the telephone survey provides the most comprehensive overview of health issues among the state's diverse population. Currently, a marketing effort is underway to encourage the public to participate.  "Take the Call" flyers are being distributed in five languages (English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese) encouraging individuals to participate in this confidential survey if they are called.

  • February 2005:  The 2004 Minnesota Health Access (MNHA) survey shows the rate of uninsurance rose from 5.4% in 2001 to 6.7% in 2004, marking the first significant increase since Minnesota first began conducting its own surveys of health insurance coverage. Read the MDH Fact Sheet

  • May 2005:  Pennsylvania’s Health Insurance Status Survey found that 8% of residents were uninsured in 2004.  Nearly half of those without health insurance were between ages 18 and 43, and 44% said they worked full time  This survey, sponsored by Pennsylvania’s Insurance Department, is the first such statewide study conducted on this subject.   • December 2005:  The State of Washington, Office of Financial Management, recently released the Washington State Employer Health Insurance Data Book (October 2005).  The report contains data on estimates of health insurance offers, enrollment and expenditures for over 94,000 employers in the state of Washington. These employers include most private sector firms that have two or more employees.   Download the report.

Wisconsin

  • December 2005:  The Department of Health and Family Services has released its annual report on Wisconsin Health Insurance Coverage, 2004.  The report is based on data collected from the Wisconsin Family Health Survey (FHS) started in 1989 and conducted annually.  The population survey collects information on health insurance coverage, health status, health problems and use of health care services for Wisconsin residents.   • August 2005:  The Bureau of Health Information and Policy in the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services has released county population data for 2004 by age and sex. It has been added to the Population Estimates page on the Department's web site.
  • May 2005:  The Wisconsin Family Health Survey, 2003 is now available on the Department of Health and Family Services web site.
